John Wall Hangs Up His Sneakers After 11 Seasons in the NBA

The renowned point guard John Wall has announced his retirement from the NBA after eleven seasons full of action and memorable moments. Wall, 34, developed most of his career with the Washington Wizards, the team that selected him as the first pick in the 2010 draft from Kentucky. The point guard, a five-time All-Star, closes his career in the league with averages of 18.7 points and 8.9 assists per game.

His best season was 2016-17, where he averaged 23.1 points and 10.7 assists for the Wizards, earning him a spot on the All-NBA third team. At his best, Wall was one of the fastest and most athletic point guards in the league, and he was the champion of the slam dunk contest in 2014. He also stood out for his defense, being included in the All-Defensive second team in 2015. Injuries affected the second half of his career. In the last six seasons, he never played more than half the games, and he did not participate in the last two.
