Brandon Ingram Cleared for Contact Against the Raptors
Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram has been cleared for contact, progressing in his recovery from an ankle injury. The 27-year-old former All-Star is expected to participate in the team’s upcoming scrimmages. Ingram has been doing individual workouts and working with the Raptors while rehabilitating from the injury that ended his season on December 7, when he was still playing for the New Orleans Pelicans. Ingram joined the Raptors in a trade in February that sent Bruce Brown and Kelly Olynyk to the Pelicans. Days after the trade, Ingram agreed to a three-year, $120 million contract extension with the Raptors, which reportedly includes a player option in the 2027-28 season. He hasn’t played any games with the Raptors yet. He was officially ruled out for the season on April 9 after receiving a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection to aid his recovery. All-Star in 2019-20, Ingram averaged 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists in 18 games in 2024-25. In his career, he averages 19.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 495 games (456 as a starter) for the Los Angeles Lakers (2016-19) and the Pelicans. The Lakers selected him with the number 2 pick in 2016.“He feels no pain, moves well, and has gotten stronger,” declared Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic.
