Hawks Send Kobe Bufkin to the Nets

The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to trade guard Kobe Bufkin to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for financial considerations, according to sources close to the situation.

Bufkin, selected by the Hawks with the 15th pick in the 2023 NBA draft, has a salary of $5.4 million this season and a team option for $6.9 million for the 2026-27 season.

This transaction provides flexibility in the template for the Hawks, as well as generating a $4.5 million trade exception. For 21-year-old Bufkin, it represents a new opportunity in Brooklyn.

Following this move, the Nets have $11.6 million in cap space and have 15 players with guaranteed contracts.

Bufkin played in 27 games with the Hawks over the last two seasons. In the G League, he averaged 23.6 points in 14 games during the 2023-24 season.
