Derrick Jones Jr. Injured in Match Against Celtics
Clippers forward Derrick Jones Jr. had to be helped off the court after suffering a right knee injury during the second quarter of the game against the Celtics, which ended in a 121-118 loss for Los Angeles. Jones was contesting a loose ball when he collided with Boston’s Jaylen Brown. Brown’s arm hit Jones’ leg. The Clippers player grabbed his knee and rolled on the ground showing signs of pain before being helped off the court, unable to fully support his leg. Clippers coach Tyronn Lue commented on Jones’ injury: “We won’t know anything until he’s re-evaluated; we’re not sure at this time.”James Harden, who scored 32 of his 37 points in the second half of the game, noted that injuries are piling up on the team. Kawhi Leonard missed his seventh consecutive game due to a sprained ankle and foot, while Bradley Beal suffered a hip fracture that will keep him out for the season on November 8th.
