World Baseball Classic Presents its Official Soundtrack
The World Baseball Classic, currently taking place in the United States, Japan, and Puerto Rico, has revealed its first official soundtrack. This milestone in the tournament’s history features the participation of renowned artists from the international music scene.
The main theme, titled ‘Make It Count’, is a fusion of Latin pop, reggaeton, and K-pop. This song is performed by American singer Becky G, Puerto Rican Myke Towers, and Yeonjun, member of the South Korean group Tomorrow X Together.
The championship’s musical selection also includes ‘MVP’ by Puerto Rican artist Young Miko, a song that celebrates the connection between baseball and Puerto Rico, and ‘My Place’ by Japanese artist Fujii Kaze, which highlights the impact of the World Baseball Classic in Japan.
The choice of artists reflects the diversity of the tournament venues, whose first match took place in Tokyo. The remaining matches will be played in the United States and Puerto Rico starting Friday.
Producer Tainy, a two-time Grammy winner known for his work with artists like Bad Bunny, Dua Lipa, and Justin Bieber, is the mastermind behind this soundtrack.
The World Baseball Classic is taking place from March 4th to 17th, with the final scheduled at LoanDepot Park, home of the Miami Marlins.
Japan, the current champion, will seek to defend its title after defeating the United States 3-2 in the 2023 final.
