Santo Domingo – The Dominican Republic’s senior women’s softball national team begins its participation in the Pan American Softball Cup this Tuesday. The debut will be against Brazil at the Luis Escobar Pocaterra stadium in Montería, Colombia, at 3:00 p.m. (local time). After the first match, the Dominican team will face Cuba in their second commitment of the opening day. The team will seek a solid start in Group B, where Mexico, Brazil, Cuba and the U.S. Virgin Islands also compete.

Juan José BritoThe team leader, Juan José Brito, expressed optimism about the possibilities of the Dominican team. Brito also highlighted that this tournament will serve as preparation for the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Games, where the country will be the host and will seek the highest honors. On Saturday the 28th, at 10:30 in the morning, the Dominican team will continue its participation against the Virgin Islands. On Sunday they will close the regular round against Mexico at 9:00 in the morning at the José Gabriel Amín Manzur stadium, the main venue of the event.Team Template
