Center Extends Its Domain in the TBS Higüey 2025
HIGÜEY, LA ALTAGRACIA – Club Centro continues its overwhelming performance in the 50th Superior Basketball Tournament of Altagracia (TBS Higüey 2025), by defeating San José with a score of 97-91. This match, held at the Leo Tavárez sports center, consolidates Centro’s undefeated record and positions it as the undisputed leader of the regular season.
With this victory, the Center secures its third consecutive win, establishing a 3-0 record in the tournament. For its part, the San José team, now with a 2-1 record, suffers its first defeat and drops to second place in the standings.
The performance of the North American reinforcement Kerry Richardson was key to Centro’s victory, achieving his third consecutive double-double with 29 points and 11 rebounds. Nathanael Louis also stood out with 26 points and 14 rebounds.
Other Centro players who contributed significantly were Jordy Peralta, with 12 points and five assists; Albert Fernández, with 10 points, seven rebounds and nine assists; and Alexander Henríquez, who contributed nine points.
In Saturday’s game against San Francisco, Richardson scored 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, demonstrating his consistency. In the opening game, he was also a key player with 21 points and 11 rebounds against Antonio Guzman.
Richardson’s average in the three games played is 25.0 points and 15.0 rebounds.
By the San José team, American reinforcement Antonio Gordon scored 23 points, followed by Luis Peña with 18 points and six rebounds, Jonathan Guerrero with 15 points, Joan Paniagua with 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Albert Reyes with 13 points.
In another match, the Antonio Guzmán club achieved its first victory of the tournament by defeating Savica with a score of 96-82.
Bryan De la Cruz, reinforcement from Monseñor Nouel, led the Antonio Guzmán offense with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists. José Castillo contributed 20 points, Ronny Bort 14, and Ariel De León 12.
