Tragedy in Munich: Fan dies at Nations League final Spain vs Portugal

MUNICH, Germany – June 8, 2025. The UEFA Nations League final between Spain and Portugal was overshadowed by a regrettable tragedy on Sunday night.

A fan lost his life after falling from an upper level of the Allianz Arena during extra time of the match.

A UEFA official, who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed that the victim suffered fatal injuries after falling towards a press area on a lower level. The incident occurred at a time of great tension both on the field and in the stands. Immediately, medical personnel, security forces, and local police cordoned off the area to provide care and begin investigations. UEFA has not yet issued an official statement with details about the identity of the deceased person or the exact circumstances of the event.
