La Romana – Justin Courtney shone from the mound, guiding the Toros del Este to a 3-1 victory over the Leones del Escogido. This triumph consolidates the Toros in second place in the Round Robin of the 2025-26 LIDOM tournament.
Courtney (2-1) demonstrated her dominance by allowing only three hits, without conceding walks and striking out five batters in five scoreless innings. This performance marks her second consecutive outing of at least five innings without allowing runs in the Round Robin.
The Toros’ bullpen, composed of Anderson Severino, Jimmy Yacabonis, Yaramil Hiraldo, J.C. Mejía, and Joe Corbett, held the lead, limiting the Leones to an unearned run in four innings. Corbett took charge of the ninth inning, securing his fourth save.

The Toros scored their three runs in the second inning, taking advantage of defensive errors by the Escogido.
