Yankees Complete Sweep at Fenway Park with Brilliant Performance by Schlittler
BOSTON – Right-handed pitcher Cam Schlittler delivered an outstanding performance on a familiar stage, leading the New York Yankees to a 4-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox, thus solidifying the sweep at the iconic Fenway Park.
Schlittler, who grew up near Boston and was a fan of the local team in his childhood, proved his worth by pitching eight solid innings in his first professional start at Fenway. He allowed only two runs, one of them earned, and gave up four hits, with five strikeouts and one walk.
The game remained close until the seventh inning, when Cody Bellinger, acting as a pinch hitter, hit a single that drove in two runs, tipping the scales in favor of the Yankees. Aaron Judge also contributed with a run-scoring hit in that same inning.
From Boston’s side, Venezuelan Carlos Narváez hit a solo home run in the fifth inning. On the other hand, the promising Payton Tolle impressed in his start, striking out 11 batters in six innings, although he allowed a home run by Jazz Chisholm Jr.
With this result, the Yankees extend their winning streak to six consecutive games and achieve their first sweep in Boston since September 2021, reaffirming their recent dominance in this historic rivalry.
