Santiago Metro Crushes Santo Domingo Lions with Three-Point Festival
In a vibrant National Basketball League (LNB) encounter, the Metros de Santiago, already qualified for the next phase, demonstrated their offensive prowess by convincingly defeating the Leones de Santo Domingo with a score of 122-94. The match took place at the Oscar Gobaira Arena, where the Metros displayed an exceptional three-point game. With this victory, the Metros consolidate their position at the top of the table, matching the 11-2 record with the Gigantes Basketball Club. In addition, they maintain their undefeated home record with an impressive 6-0 and complete the sweep of the series against the Leones, whom they also defeated with authority on April 21st. The key to the Metros’ triumph was their effectiveness from the three-point line, scoring 17 three-pointers out of 35 attempts, representing a 49% success rate. Their performance on the field was remarkable, with 56% of shots converted. In addition, the team demonstrated exemplary teamwork, totaling 32 assists and losing only 8 balls. The Metros’ defense was also key, forcing 15 turnovers by the Leones. Brahiam Méndez led the offense with 18 points, followed by Anthony Fairley with 16. Raimer Santana contributed 15 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds, while Jordan Hall also scored 15 points and dished out 6 assists.
