MURCIA. – Sadiel Rojas, former captain and emblematic figure of UCAM Murcia, will be honored this Tuesday with the official retirement of his number 27 jersey. This gesture recognizes a decade of dedication, leadership, and commitment to the university club. Rojas, who defended the colors of UCAM between 2014 and 2023, expressed his excitement anticipating “a wonderful day” in the run-up to the match against Real Madrid.
The tribute will take place at the Palacio de los Deportes in Murcia, where the former forward played numerous memorable matches. His jersey will be hung as a permanent symbol of the team’s competitive identity. The ceremony will coincide with the crucial match against Real Madrid, a key game for the leadership of the Endesa League, with the Murcians in second place and the Madrid team leading the table. At 36 years old, Sadiel Antonio Lucciano Rojas, born in Kansas (USA) and an international selection from the Dominican Republic, participated in the press conference prior to the match, where the tribute he will receive was officially presented. Rojas, who arrived at the club in 2014 from Leones de Santo Domingo, is closely following the news of UCAM Murcia.
