Rincón Bay Foundation Boosts Sports in Las Galeras with Comprehensive Day
The Rincón Bay Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to the sports and social development of youth in Las Galeras, Samaná, with a day that included the rehabilitation of facilities and a baseball clinic led by former Major League player Rafael Landestoy. The initiative focused on improving the community’s play area, with painting work and the delivery of uniforms and sports equipment, such as receivers, gloves, and balls, to the Almeida League, which brings together young baseball players from the area. The highlight of the day was the sports clinic given by Landestoy, a prominent figure also as a leader of the Tigres del Licey. Around 110 children and adolescents from two local leagues participated, receiving technical and motivational guidance.The activity was attended by local authorities, including deputy Cecilio García and mayor Ana Reyes, who acknowledged the positive impact of these initiatives on the community. Víctor Dumé, director of Community Relations of the foundation, highlighted the importance of sport as a tool for education and training in values. In addition to sports practice, the Rincón Bay Foundation incorporated an educational component, offering guidance to the participants. With these actions, the Rincón Bay Foundation continues its work in Samaná, promoting sports as a means of inclusion and growth for Dominican youth.These actions seek to provide opportunities and keep young people away from risky environments.
