Repsol Grand Prix: Thrilling finish in car and motorcycle championships

Santo Domingo. The Autódromo Internacional Las Américas is preparing to host the Repsol Grand Prix this Sunday, November 30th, an event that will mark the closing of the 2025 season for cars and motorcycles.The competition will define the national championships of the Dominican Federation of Automobilism (FDA) and the Dominican Federation of Motorcycling (FDM).The drivers of the Dominican Circuit Runners Club (CDCC) and Track Club RD will be fine-tuning their machines from Friday to offer a high-level spectacle.

Car Categories

In the premier Racing Sedan (RS) category, the competition promises to be intense. Jonathan Basden and Giusseppe Rivas arrive separated by only 12 points, after a season full of emotions. Both drivers won one race each in the previous event, and this weekend they will face each other in a decisive battle. Tomás Urbaez and the duo Emmanuel Torres / Piero Perrone will also seek to stand out.In Street Touring, the defending champion, Cristhian Bonnet, will seek to maintain his position. However, he cannot let his guard down, as Tonino Aybar and Juaki Leroux are close, with possibilities of snatching the title from him. Bonnet arrives with 105 points, while the pair of Auto No. 5 adds 82.For the Stock Dominican Series (SDS) PRO division, José Lora will compete with Yorky Mateo in a closing that promises to be vibrant in the remaining two races. In the Amateur division, Aris Custodio and Fernando Mojica will star in a very close duel, separated by only 4 points.In National Tourism, the duo Piero Perrone / Emmanuel Torres has a 37-point lead over Carlos Sansoucy / Michael McKoy, so a good performance would secure them the championship.The Index TC30 category presents a highly contested competition between Néstor Hidalgo, José Paiewonsky, Eddy Lorenzo, and Freddy Reyes, who will fight for the lead. In TC32, eight drivers arrive with chances of winning, guaranteeing two races full of excitement.

Motorcycle Categories

The Repsol Grand Prix will also close the high-displacement motorcycle racing season. The Super Sport, ProBike, Amateur and Street Bike categories arrive without clear favorites.The excitement will continue with the low-displacement divisions, always protagonists in the show.This event is endorsed by the FDA and the FDM.The racetrack gates will open at 10:00 AM. Qualifying will be on Saturday, and the races on Sunday. Tickets will be available at the entrance: RD$500.00 – Stands and RD$1,500.00 – Paddock area.
