Dominican Republic Out of Davis Cup After Falling to Ukraine
Santo Domingo – The Dominican Republic’s tennis team was eliminated from the possibility of advancing to Group I of the Davis Cup World Group, after being defeated 4-0 by Ukraine in the series held in Antalya, Turkey.
The Ukrainian team demonstrated its superiority from the first day of competition. Vladyslav Orlov and Vyacheslav Belinsky achieved crucial victories in the individual matches against Roberto Cid and Peter Bertran, respectively.
On Saturday, the Ukrainian duo of Ovrcharenko and Orlov secured qualification by winning the doubles match, with scores of 7-6 and 6-2 over Cid and Bertran, guaranteeing the third point of the series and Ukraine’s passage to the World Group I playoffs.
Despite having the series defined, a fourth match was played where Oleksii Krutykh defeated the young Dominican Enmanuel Muñoz with a score of 6-1 and 6-4.
The series took place at the Megasaray Club Belek complex in Antalya, Turkey, over the weekend.About the Davis Cup
