José Ramírez and Nico Hoerner: Highlighted as Players of the Week
The baseball world celebrates the achievements of two outstanding players. José Ramírez, from the Dominican Republic, was awarded the Player of the Week award in the American League for the ninth time in his career. Meanwhile, infielder Nico Hoerner won the same recognition in the National League.
Ramírez proved his worth in seven games, solidifying his position as one of the greats. His batting average was .364 (22-8), including a double, four home runs, five RBIs, and nine runs scored. In addition, he showed great discipline with eight walks, five stolen bases, and an impressive slugging percentage of .955 and an on-base percentage of .533.
The Dominican third baseman led the Major Leagues in OPS (1.488), on-base percentage and stolen bases, and tied for the lead in runs scored during the period.
Hoerner also shined with the bat. His average was .346 (26-9), with two home runs, 11 RBIs, four runs scored, and two stolen bases. His offensive line included a slugging percentage of .577 and an on-base percentage of .377.
The Play of the Week was starred by Jackson Merrill, who made a spectacular catch to rob a home run from the Dominican Julio Rodríguez in a game played last Wednesday.
