Changes in the 2026 Caribbean Series: Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Mexico Will Not Participate

The Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC) has announced important news regarding the 2026 Caribbean Series. In an Extraordinary General Assembly, the leagues of Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Mexico formally communicated their inability to participate in the event, scheduled from February 1st to 7th in Venezuela. The CBPC explained that this decision is based on external situations beyond its control. The Confederation received the communication from the member leagues within a framework of institutional respect, following the established internal procedures. In addition, the CBPC recognized the position of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), which has confirmed that it has the necessary conditions to carry out the event. The Confederation, along with its member leagues, valued the work done by the LVBP and its Organizing Committee, as well as the efforts invested in the planning of the 2026 Caribbean Series. Faced with this situation, the CBPC is responsibly evaluating the different alternatives available and is committed to keeping fans and the media informed about any decisions that are made.
