Mexico to Host the 2027 Caribbean Series: Hermosillo at the Heart of Baseball

The city of Hermosillo, Mexico, is preparing to be the epicenter of Caribbean baseball in 2027, having been chosen as the venue for the Caribbean Series for the seventh time in its history. This highly relevant sporting event will mark a milestone, being the third consecutive time that the tournament is held on Mexican territory.

This designation is a clear recognition of Mexico’s outstanding organizational capacity by the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC). Mexico leads the list of host countries with a total of 18 editions of the Caribbean Series held in its territory.

Hermosillo, capital of the state of Sonora, is established as one of the most important venues in the history of the Caribbean Series. With this new edition, it approaches iconic cities like Santo Domingo and Caracas, which have been traditional stages of the regional championship.

The Caribbean Series has traveled through seven countries throughout its history, demonstrating the growth and expansion of the tournament in America and the Caribbean. Mexico, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic have been the nations with the greatest prominence in the organization, while cities like Mexicali, Guadalajara, San Juan, Miami, and Panama have also been venues at different times.

Despite the success in the organization, history shows that being a host does not guarantee victory. Mexico has achieved important championships at home, and now the challenge is to combine the organizational experience with a new triumph on the field.

The 2027 edition will take place at the Fernando Valenzuela Stadium, home of the Naranjeros de Hermosillo. This stadium will once again be the scene of the Caribbean party after more than ten years of absence.
