Juan Soto could return to action with the Mets
The New York Mets are reportedly close to receiving a significant reinforcement. According to sources, the team plans to activate Dominican Juan Soto from the injured list before Wednesday’s game against the Twins. However, the official announcement has not yet been made.
The return of Soto represents a significant boost for the Mets, who have felt his absence in recent weeks. The 27-year-old outfielder was showing great offensive performance before suffering a right calf strain on April 3rd.
Before his injury, Soto had connected at least one hit in each of his eight games played. His offensive line was .355/.412/.516, with a home run and two doubles.
Following Soto’s absence, the New York team experienced a notable slump. After a 4-4 start, including a 10-3 victory over the Giants in Soto’s last game, the Mets managed three more wins before falling into a negative streak of 11 consecutive losses, equaling the worst record in Major League Baseball.
Soto is coming off a strong 2025 season, in which he participated in 160 games and led the National League with 38 stolen bases. In addition, he hit 43 home runs and drew 127 walks, the most in all of Major League Baseball.
His possible return could be key for the Mets, who are looking to improve their performance and regain their competitive level.
