Santo Domingo.- The mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía, expressed her gratitude to the hundreds of citizens who gathered at the Santo Domingo Park, located on the Malecón of the capital, to witness the live broadcast of the exciting match between the Dominican Republic and Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic. The initiative, organized by the National District Mayor’s Office, aimed to offer capital families the opportunity to enjoy the game in a public and festive environment, fostering unity and passion for the sport.
Gratitude and Celebration on the Malecon
The official highlighted the remarkable participation of the people, who, despite the rains that occurred during the afternoon, gathered at the place early to be part of this sporting celebration. Both Dominican and Venezuelan fans shared the space in front of the Caribbean Sea, demonstrating the intense passion that baseball generates between both countries. Mejía highlighted the presence of entire families and people of all ages, who chose to go to the park to enjoy the gathering. According to his words, this type of activity is fundamental to strengthen coexistence and collective enjoyment in the public spaces of the city.In a conversation, the mayor expressed her enthusiasm for the public’s response, assuring that the event was conceived to provide a moment of joy to both Dominicans and Venezuelans passionate about baseball, amidst one of the most followed rivalries of the World Baseball Classic.
