Cifre and Najri Shine at FIA Americas Awards: Dominican Motorsport Pride

Panama City, Panama – The 13th FIA Americas Awards Gala, held in a city hotel last Saturday, January 31st, recognized drivers Luis Cifre Pellerano and Alfredo Najri. The event was attended by more than 30 drivers and presidents of federations from countries across the American continent. Cifre, highlighted in karting, and Najri, in motorsports, received the award for the most outstanding drivers of 2025. The president of the Dominican Federation of Motorsports (FDA), Mr. Adriano Abreu Sued, was in charge of presenting the awards and highlighting the work of Dominican drivers during the season.

“Undoubtedly, the work done by Luis Cifre winning the Jr. karting category and participating in the FIA Trophy Academy in Europe makes him deserving of such distinction, as well as Alfredito Najri who was crowned champion of the international V8 category in the GT Challenge championship, raised our flag high and we are proud to see him shine today on this stage that honors the best drivers on the American continent during a complete season”

The presentation of the Dominican pilots included an audiovisual that exhibited the beauty of the Dominican Republic, showing its landscapes and moments of competition of the pilots, accompanied by the music of Juan Luis Guerra. In the ceremony, important figures from the International Automobile Federation (FIA) of the region were present, including Daniel Coen, Fabiana Flosi de Ecclestone, and Dante Pescetto. Luis Cifre was accompanied by his father, Luis Alberto, while Abreu Sued received the trophy on behalf of Najri. The delegation shared with personalities from the world of motorsport, such as Nelson Piquet Jr. Aquiles J. Ramírez, director of communications of the FDA, was also part of the Dominican representation. During the weekend, a welcome cocktail was offered and a tour of the Autódromo de Panamá was conducted, coinciding with a local circuit event. Furthermore, the unification of the area was discussed, proposing a technical regulatory integration to strengthen karting and sports tourism through sports exchange.
