Charlotte, USA – Kylian Mbappé, the shining star of Real Madrid, will not be present in Sunday’s crucial match against Pachuca in the second matchday of the group stage of the Club World Cup. The absence of the French forward is a hard blow for the team. Internal sources from the club confirmed to Alofoke Deportes that Mbappé will remain in Palm Beach, Florida, to continue his recovery process after suffering from acute gastroenteritis this week. The French star was training at the Real Madrid hotel facilities in Palm Beach on Friday, but was not included in the squad that Xabi Alonso will manage this Saturday.

Limited Training

Mbappé’s participation in training during the team’s stay in Florida was limited. He was only able to participate in two sessions, on Sunday and Monday. From that moment on, a high fever sidelined him from the match against Al Hilal in Miami, marking Real Madrid’s debut in the tournament. The situation became complicated when the player had to be hospitalized that same night due to acute gastroenteritis, although he was discharged after receiving treatment. Despite efforts to recover, Mbappé is still not fit to compete. On Friday, the striker worked in the hotel gym, but will not be part of the team that will face Pachuca. Real Madrid will travel to Charlotte this Saturday afternoon without their number 9, facing Pachuca in a key match for their aspirations in group H.
