Mamoru Hidaka, Karate Pioneer in Jarabacoa, Passes Away: A Sporting Legacy

Jarabacoa – The community deeply regrets the passing of Mr. Mamoru Hidaka, brother of Tony Hidaka and member of the founding family of the Japanese Agricultural Colony of Jarabacoa. His departure represents a great loss for the region.

Mamoru Hidaka was a key figure in the development of karate in the municipality, leaving a significant legacy in the cultural and sports field. His memory will endure in the community.

Originally from the Japanese community, Hidaka is remembered for his human warmth and the valuable contributions that, together with his family, he made to strengthen the martial values that have transcended generations in Jarabacoa.

The death occurred on Tuesday, February 3rd.

The funeral services are being held this Wednesday the 4th, starting at 10:00 in the morning at the Blandino Funeral Home, located on Abraham Lincoln Avenue. Subsequently, at 3:00 in the afternoon, his remains will be transferred to the Cristo Redentor Cemetery for Christian burial.
