LeBron James Leads the List of Reserves for the 2026 All-Star Game

The NBA announced this Sunday the 14 players selected as reserves for the 2026 All-Star Game, highlighting the presence of LeBron James, who adds his 22nd call-up, setting a new record in the history of the league. For the first time in his career, the Los Angeles Lakers forward will participate in the All-Star game from the bench. His inclusion underscores his continued relevance in the basketball elite, despite his more than two decades in the NBA.

Conferences and Selected Players

In the Western Conference, James will be joined by Anthony Edwards (Timberwolves), Jamal Murray (Nuggets), Chet Holmgren (Thunder), Devin Booker (Suns) and Deni Avdija (Trail Blazers), forming a team that combines experience and youth. The Eastern Conference reserves include Donovan Mitchell (Cavaliers), Jalen Johnson (Hawks), Karl-Anthony Towns (Knicks), Pascal Siakam (Pacers), Norman Powell (Heat), Scottie Barnes (Raptors), and Jalen Duren (Pistons).

New All-Star Game Format

The NBA will implement a new format this year, distributing the All-Stars into two teams from the United States and one from the rest of the world, competing in a round-robin mini-tournament, before a final between the two best. LeBron James leads the historical list of All-Star Game appearances with 22 appearances, followed by Kevin Durant (16), Stephen Curry (12), Giannis Antetokounmpo (10), and Nikola Jokic (8), solidifying his legacy as a key figure in world basketball.
