Mexico Kicks Off the Caribbean Series Jalisco 2026 with a Vibrant Opening Ceremony
The Jalisco 2026 Caribbean Series edition began spectacularly at the Pan American Stadium in Zapopan, Jalisco, marking the start of a tournament that promises strong emotions and the best of Caribbean baseball.
The opening ceremony was attended by important local and national figures, as well as the participating teams, anticipating a week full of competition and passion for the sport.
The event began with an emotional display of the Mexican flag, carried by members of the Mexican Armed Forces, followed by honors to the national flag performed by the band of the Mexican Fifth Military Region.
Subsequently, the anthems of Mexico and the Dominican Republic were sung, in addition to the anthem of the Caribbean Baseball Confederation, composed by Juan Francisco Puello Herrera, president of the organization.
The opening ceremony was a display of patriotism and emotion.
The first pitch was thrown by former Major League player Sergio Romo, leading to an artistic show that set the stage for the first game of the series.
The first match pitted the Charros de Jalisco against the Leones del Escogido, marking the start of the sporting competition.
The Caribbean Series Jalisco 2026 features the participation of five teams:
- Red Mexico (Charros de Jalisco)
- Green Mexico (Tomateros de Culiacán)
- Dominican Republic (Leones del Escogido)
- Puerto Rico (Cangrejeros de Santurce)
- Panama (Federales de Chiriquí)
The tournament will take place from February 1st to 7th at the Pan American Stadium in Zapopan.
