Aaron Judge and Other Stars Shine in an Epic MLB Day

The Monday in Major League Baseball was full of action, with outstanding offensive performances, dominant pitching, and emotional moments. Aaron Judge led the New York Yankees on a memorable night, but he wasn’t the only one to shine.

In New York, Judge hit his 14th home run of the season, propelling the Yankees to a resounding 12-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles, completing a four-game sweep. The victory held special significance as tribute was paid to the legendary announcer John Sterling, who recently passed away. Starting pitcher Cam Schlittler delivered a solid performance, and the offense exploded in the final innings.

In Chicago, the Cubs extended their home dominance with a dramatic home run by Michael Conforto, as a pinch hitter, to beat the Cincinnati Reds 5-4. This victory represented the 12th consecutive win at Wrigley Field, solidifying one of the best home streaks in franchise history.

Meanwhile, in Houston, Japanese pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto shone from the mound, striking out eight batters in six innings, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to an 8-3 victory over the Houston Astros. After a complicated start, the right-hander found his rhythm and dominated one of the most dangerous offenses in the American League.

In Miami, Aaron Nola pitched six scoreless innings, leading the Philadelphia Phillies to a 1-0 victory over the Miami Marlins. The pitching game was also highlighted by Bryce Harper’s solo home run. The Phillies continue their good momentum under the interim leadership of Don Mattingly.

For his part, in Anaheim, the Japanese Munetaka Murakami hit an impressive 429-foot home run, tying for the season’s home run lead, driving the Chicago White Sox to a 6-0 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Starter Davis Martin completed a gem, with 10 strikeouts in seven innings.

The day also reaffirmed the great moment of several stars in the race for the Most Valuable Player. In the American League, Judge shares the spotlight with Yordan Álvarez, while in the National League, Shohei Ohtani remains the main candidate, closely followed by the Dominican Elly De La Cruz.

The MLB day offered a combination of offensive power, dominance on the mound, and decisive performances, promising a 2026 season full of excitement.
