Hawks Take Lead Against Knicks with Agonizing Playoff Victory

In an exciting first-round NBA playoff matchup, the Atlanta Hawks secured a dramatic victory over the New York Knicks with a final score of 109-108. This win gives the Hawks a 2-1 lead in the series.

The game, held in Atlanta, was decided in the final seconds thanks to a solid home defense. With only 12 seconds on the clock, the Knicks couldn’t convert their last possession. A missed pass from Jalen Brunson, under pressure, directed to Josh Hart, resulted in a final attempt intercepted by Jonathan Kuminga.

Previously, CJ McCollum, with 23 points, scored the mid-range shot that proved crucial in giving Atlanta the lead back at the end of the game.

The Hawks controlled much of the game, although the Knicks reacted in the final minutes with a series of three-pointers that kept the score close. For the Knicks, OG Anunoby stood out, with 29 points and 9 rebounds, and Brunson, who contributed 26 units.

Karl-Anthony Towns also had an outstanding performance with 21 points and 17 rebounds, helping the Knicks take a three-point lead with just over a minute left. However, they failed to hold on to it.

For Atlanta, teamwork was fundamental. Jalen Johnson and Kuminga brought energy on both sides of the court, solidifying a key defensive performance in the final moments.

The fourth game of the series will be played this Saturday, again in Atlanta, where the Hawks will seek to extend their lead and get closer to qualifying.
