Firpo Withdraws from the Dominican Republic National Team Due to Medical Precaution

SANTO DOMINGO – The Dominican Football Federation (Fedofútbol) announced this Friday a significant absence in the current national team call-up: defender Junior Firpo will not be able to participate due to physical problems. Firpo, who plays for Leeds United in England, had joined the Dominican Republic national team’s training sessions on May 27th.

Following a joint medical evaluation with the coaching staff, it was concluded that the best course of action for the player was to return to his club. The primary objective is to safeguard his health and prevent potential complications.

The left-back was experiencing minor discomfort that had been present since the end of his season in Europe. The decision was made in consensus, considering his complete recovery and his availability for future international matches.

We deeply value Junior’s commitment to the team and to the homeland. We trust that he will soon be back to continue representing the Dominican Republic with the same enthusiasm as always.
