2026 King’s Cup of Basketball: Latin American Talent in Valencia

The 90th edition of the King’s Cup of Basketball, which will be held in Valencia from February 19 to 22, promises to be an event full of emotion and Latin American talent. With a dozen players from five different nationalities, the tournament presents great expectations for fans. The new Roig Arena will be the stage where eight teams will fight for the title, with Argentina and the Dominican Republic as the nations with the greatest representation. This sporting event will bring together the fans in search of one of the great national titles.

Dominican Stars on the Court

Jean Montero, from Valencia Basket, is emerging as a key figure. At 22 years old, Montero is established as one of the best players in the Endesa League, with outstanding performances in the Euroleague. With impressive averages of 14 points, 2.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and a valuation of 15 in the ACB, Montero is considered a strong candidate for MVP. In addition to Montero, the Dominican Republic will be represented by Andrés Feliz, from Real Madrid, and Chris Duarte and Tyson Pérez, from Unicaja de Málaga. Pérez’s participation is in doubt due to an injury. Andrés Feliz, in his second season with Real Madrid, will have an important role in the team’s rotation. Meanwhile, Unicaja will have the debut of Chris Duarte, a forward with great scoring potential.

Argentina: A Strong Presence

Argentina, once again, will lead the representation of players in the Cup, with a total of five. Facundo Campazzo, from Real Madrid, will seek his fourth title, while Gabriel Deck, recovering from an injury, could be a valuable addition to the team. Nicolás Laprovittola and Juani Marcos, from Barça, will also be key figures for the Argentinian team. Laprovittola, who already set a valuation record in the past, will be a fundamental piece in the attack. Marcos will debut in the Copa del Rey, after his outstanding participation in the FIBA AmeriCup.

Other Key Figures

Dylan Bordón, from La Laguna Tenerife, could also participate in the tournament, although his playing time has been limited. The possible absence of Marcelinho Huertas, due to an injury, could give him more prominence. Bruno Fitipaldo, from Uruguay, will also play an important role in the Tenerife team. Finally, Howard Sant-Roos, from Cuba, will play his second Copa del Rey with UCAM Murcia, seeking to improve his performance after the elimination in the quarterfinals in the previous edition.
