Jasson Domínguez Promoted to the Yankees: Reinforcement After Stanton Injury

NEW YORK – The New York Yankees have confirmed this Monday the promotion of Dominican outfielder Jasson Domínguez from Triple-A. This decision is made in response to the need to strengthen the team after Giancarlo Stanton’s injury.

Domínguez, 23 years old, will take the position left by pitcher Luis Gil, who was sent to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday after a difficult performance.

The young gardener arrives at the main team after an outstanding performance in the minor leagues. There, he recorded an OPS of .893, including three home runs and eight stolen bases in 24 games.

Despite having shown a good performance during spring training, Dominguez started the season in the minors. However, the absence of Stanton, who has missed two consecutive games due to stiffness in his right calf, accelerated his return to the team.

In the previous season, Domínguez played in 123 games with the Yankees, showing an offensive average with an OPS of .719. In addition, he hit 10 home runs and stole 23 bases, establishing himself as one of the most promising prospects in the organization.

With this addition, the Yankees seek to maintain strength in their offense while awaiting Stanton’s recovery and adjusting their roster in the early weeks of the season.
