La Romana, Dominican Republic – In an exciting LNB Super League match, the Cañeros del Este defeated the Titanes del Sur with a final score of 102-96. The match, held at the Eleoncio Mercedes sports complex, was led by an outstanding performance by Yeison Colomé.
Colomé leads the Cañeros’ offense
Colomé was the key figure in the victory, scoring 34 points. His field goal percentage was impressive, with 64% from the field (14/22) and 43% from three-pointers (3/7). In addition, Colomé contributed with 6 assists, consolidating his leadership in the team.
Despite this triumph, the Cañeros did not manage to win the particular series against the Titans, as they had lost the previous match on May 20 with a score of 87-74.
Lazar Lugic also had an outstanding performance on the Cañeros team, achieving a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Luixander Blanco added 11 points and 4 assists.
From the Southern Titans, Tyree White and Randy Bautista scored 17 points each. Jonathan Araújo also stood out with a double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds.

The Cañeros dominated the first quarter, finishing with a score of 29-24, driven by 11 points from Colomé and 8 from Lugic. In the second quarter, the Titans managed to overcome a disadvantage, briefly taking the lead. However, the Cañeros regained control and closed the first half with a 56-53 lead.
Colomé continued his excellent performance in the first half, accumulating 19 points and 4 assists. Lugic contributed 10 points and 4 rebounds. For the Titans, Ferguson and Williams recorded 11 points each, while Araújo added 10 points and 5 rebounds.
In the third quarter, a basket by Blanco extended the Cañeros’ lead to 12 points (74-62), but the Titans responded, closing the gap in the score. The Cañeros’ defense secured a 9-point lead (83-74) at the end of the third period.
The final quarter was hard-fought, with the Titans pressing and closing in on the scoreboard. A three-pointer by Araujo put the Titans within one point (94-93), but the Cañeros, with free throws, managed to maintain the lead and secure the victory.
