Chosen Reinforces Roster: Navarro and Cordero Lead LIDOM Integrations

BOCA CHICA – Los Leones del Escogido began their preseason preparation with the incorporation of 15 players this Monday at the New York Yankees academy. Among the outstanding players are Yamaico Navarro and Jimmy Cordero, key figures of the 2024-25 LIDOM championship and the 2025 Caribbean Series.

Key Reinforcements for the Season

Alongside Navarro and Cordero, the current national and Caribbean champions added outfielder Zoilo Almonte, catcher Freuddy Batista, and promising infielder John Gil to their ranks. Batista and Gil arrive after an outstanding summer in the United States Minor Leagues. Infielder Jonathan Guzmán, pitcher Luis Santos, acquired in free agency, and reliever Robinson Martínez also joined the scarlet team.

These players complete the group preparing for the 2025-26 season, dedicated to Don Juan Marichal, which will begin on October 15. The capital’s team already has outfielders Sócrates Brito, Franchy Cordero and Junior Lake, as well as catcher Pedro Severino and pitchers Johnny Cueto and Diógenes Almengó, who have been at the camp since last week.

First Preseason Game

The Leones del Escogido will play their first preseason game this Tuesday at 11:00 in the morning against the Toros del Este, at the Yankees’ academy.
