Brasilia, Brazil – The “Queens of the Caribbean”, the Dominican Republic women’s volleyball team, are preparing for their participation in the 2026 Volleyball Nations League. The tournament, organized by the International Volleyball Federation, will begin on June 3.
Match Schedule
The Dominican Republic’s first match will be against the Turkish national team, on June 3rd at 12:00 noon, marking the start of Group 2.
On June 4th, the Dominican team will face Brazil, the host and number two in the world ranking, at 8:00 PM.
On June 5th, the “Queens of the Caribbean” will play against Bulgaria, ranked 25th, at 3:30 PM. On June 6th, the team will have a day off.
The first phase will conclude on June 7th with a match against the Netherlands, number eight in the world, at 10:00 in the morning.
The Dominican selection, currently in 11th place in the world ranking, will face important challenges from the beginning of the tournament. Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz, president of the National Teams Project, and Milagros Cabral, general director of the program, confirmed the information.
Part of the team is in the final stage of international professional leagues, while another group continues its preparation in the country.
The second week of competition for the Dominican Republic will begin on June 17 in the Philippines, where they will debut against the United States volleyball team.
