SANTO DOMINGO – Bryan de la Cruz, from the Toros del Este, and right-handed pitcher Jorge Tavarez, from the Águilas Cibaeñas, have been awarded as the Most Valuable Players (MVP) of the week in the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM). The recognition corresponds to the period from November 24 to 30, in the 2025-2026 season, dedicated to don Juan Marichal and in option to the Banreservas Cup.The award ceremony, in its sixth edition, was held virtually, with the participation of more than 100 sports reporters from all over the country. It is the first time in the current season that both awards have gone to native players.
Bryan De La Cruz’s Offensive Domain
The Toros del Este’s outfielder won the award in a standout manner, obtaining 78 votes out of a possible 105, representing 74.3%. He surpassed Deyvison De Los Santos (Gigantes del Cibao) and Steward Berroa (Águilas Cibaeñas), who each received six votes. Christian Adames (Tigres del Licey) obtained five.De la Cruz had an impressive offensive week, batting .435 (10 hits in 23 at-bats), including two home runs, four doubles, and ten RBIs. His on-base percentage (OBP) was .480, his slugging percentage was .870, and his OPS was 1.350.This is the 16th time a player from the Toros del Este has won the weekly MVP since LIDOM officially took over the award in the 2022-2023 season.
Tavarez Shines on the Mound
In the pitchers’ section, Tavarez dominated with 82 votes, equivalent to 79.6% of the 103 ballots cast. The only pitcher with double figures was Aaron Sánchez, also from the Toros del Este, with 13 votes (12.6%).The opener for the Águilas Cibaeñas had two starts, both wins, accumulating 11 innings in which he allowed only two runs, five hits and struck out 12 batters, for an ERA of 1.64 and a WHIP of 0.64.This is the twentieth weekly MVP for a player of the Águilas Cibaeñas, the most for any team since this award modality began.

In the recent tournament action, the Estrellas Orientales defeated Escogido 6-5, the Toros del Este surpassed the Águilas Cibaeñas 10-3, and the Gigantes del Cibao left Licey on the field with a score of 4-3.The six participating teams will continue the competition between December 2nd and 6th, in a crucial stage that could redefine the standings.
