SANTO DOMINGO – Former outfielders Carlos Beltrán and Andruw Jones have been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame, as announced by MLB Network this Tuesday. Both players reached the minimum required percentage of votes to secure their place in the prestigious venue.

Beltrán achieved exaltation in his fourth year on the ballot, while Jones achieved it on his ninth attempt. Their outstanding careers in the Major Leagues have been recognized with this well-deserved distinction.

Beltrán obtained 84.2% of the votes, while Jones got 78.4%, both exceeding the necessary threshold of 75%.

The official induction ceremony will take place on July 26 in Cooperstown, New York.

Beltrán, recognized as one of the most complete Latin American players of his generation, left an indelible mark on the sport. His combination of power, speed, defense, and leadership made him an emblematic figure in both the regular season and the postseason. With his induction, he becomes the twentieth Latin player to be immortalized in Cooperstown.

For his part, Jones was widely regarded as one of the best defensive outfielders in baseball history. His performance with the Atlanta Braves earned him multiple Gold Gloves and a key role in the team’s dominance in the National League.

The Class of 2026, according to statistical analyses based on WAR (Wins Above Replacement), is near the historical average of the Hall of Fame, which confirms the relevance and impact of the players enshrined this year.
