The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz advanced to the third round of Wimbledon after defeating Oliver Tarvet in a match that ended with scores of 6-1, 6-4 and 6-4.

Tarvet, coming from the university circuit, represented an unexpected challenge for Alcaraz, who faced the inexperience of his opponent in the professional circuit.

Despite the difference in ranking, with Alcaraz in second place and Tarvet at 733, the young university student proved his worth on the court.

Alcaraz, although he achieved victory, did not show his best game, especially in the serve, where he conceded opportunities to his rival.

In the second set, Tarvet even broke Alcaraz’s serve, demonstrating the university player’s resilience.

Despite the challenges, Alcaraz maintained his winning streak, adding twenty consecutive victories since the Barcelona final and fifteen consecutive victories at Wimbledon.

In the women’s tournament, Aryna Sabalenka also secured her place in the third round by defeating Marie Bouzkova with scores of 7-6 (4) and 6-4.

Sabalenka, world number one, overcame a complicated match against Bouzkova, who demonstrated her skill at Wimbledon.

Bouzkova maintained a solid game, but Sabalenka managed to prevail, especially in the tie-break of the first set and in the second set, where she secured the victory.

Sabalenka continues her quest for her fourth Grand Slam title and the first outside the hard courts of Melbourne and New York.

In the next round, Sabalenka will face the winner of the match between Emma Raducanu and Marketa Vondrousova.
