Abadina launches digital platform to boost district basketball
Santo Domingo – The Basketball Association of the National District (Abadina) has officially launched its new digital platform, an innovative technological tool designed to strengthen institutional management and benefit affiliated clubs, as well as players, coaches, technicians, and leaders. The presentation ceremony took place in the James Rodríguez hall of the Ministry of Sports, led by the president of the entity, Edwin Castillo (Tatico), along with the member of the Executive Committee, César Pilarte, the driving force behind the initiative. The platform, developed under the Odoo 17 system, represents a digital ecosystem that centralizes administrative processes, registration of athletes and coaches, technical training, and management in a single technological infrastructure.Transparency, Efficiency, and Technical Legacy
During his intervention, Castillo highlighted that this project aligns with the three fundamental pillars of his management for the period 2025-2028: transparency, administrative efficiency, and strengthening of the technical legacy. Among the key components of the system is the Digital Census, considered the central axis of the platform. This will allow the creation of a unique and biographical record of athletes, managers and clubs, eliminating data duplication and ensuring greater institutional control. Also, the Virtual Headquarters was presented, a web portal that will include appointment management, help system (helpdesk) and institutional calendar, tools that will streamline processes and optimize administrative response capacity. Another significant advance is the Abadina Virtual Academy, aimed at carrying out online courses with the aim of promoting continuous training and sports education in digital format. The platform also includes the automation of accounting processes and online payments, strengthening economic transparency in the management of institutional resources.César Pilarte explained that the initiative was conceived several years ago and that it found in the current board the necessary support for its definitive implementation. He emphasized that Odoo 17 is one of the most advanced technological platforms regionally and has more than 15 million users worldwide. Also present at the activity were Héctor Junior Gil, vice president of Abadina; Raúl Peña (Koby), treasurer; Santos María, press officer; Anthony Fernández, vocal; and as a special guest Fernando Geraldino, Social Responsibility manager of Seaboard “Clean Energy”. With this launch, Abadina reaffirms its commitment to innovation and digital transformation in the management of district basketball.“This is not an improvised project, but the materialization of a vision of years. We are not delivering a simple website, but a modern, transparent and efficient institution for future generations,” expressed Castillo.
