Abadina Kicks Off U25 Basketball Championship with Special Dedication

Santo Domingo, RD. – The Basketball Association of the National District (Abadina) will begin this Tuesday the U25 Men’s Second Division Championship “José Heredia Castillo (Corporancito)”. The tournament, which bears the name of an emblematic figure of local basketball, will be played for the Seaboard “Clean Energy” Cup. The opening day promises excitement with a double header that will be held at the sports center of the Mauricio Báez club, located in Villa Juana. The first match, scheduled for 6:00 PM, will pit the Bameso and Los Gladiadores teams against each other. Following that, at 8:00 PM, it will be the turn of El Caliche and Los Prados. The championship is dedicated to Stalin Alcántara, and pays tribute to José Heredia Castillo (Corporancito), who in life was a leader of the Mauricio Báez club and former president of Abadina.

The president of Abadina, Edwin Castillo, highlighted the participation of 20 teams, which represents great enthusiasm for basketball in the capital.
