Wilmer Figuereo urges prioritizing support for youth in vulnerable sectors

In the framework of the International Day of Solidarity, engineer Wilmer A. Figuereo, president of the Youth for My Neighborhood Foundation, called on Dominican society to intensify support for the most needy communities, placing special emphasis on childhood and youth.

Figuereo stressed that solidarity should not be limited to words, but rather translated into tangible actions that transform the quality of life of citizens and open doors of development for future generations. According to the leader, the country’s growth depends directly on social investment and the support provided to those residing in vulnerable environments.

Young people deserve opportunities. They are the future of the Dominican Republic and we must think about them, support them, and create the necessary conditions so that they can develop their capabilities and achieve their goals.

A call for national unity

The president of the foundation emphasized that national progress is a shared effort. In this sense, he urged public institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations to join forces to strengthen the social fabric in Dominican neighborhoods.

  • Promotion of educational programs focused on community development.
  • Implementation of initiatives that generate real growth opportunities for families at risk.
  • Fostering a culture of active and constant solidarity at a national level.

In closing, Figuereo reaffirmed his organization’s commitment to remain at the forefront of social projects that positively impact the most disadvantaged sectors. He assured that every effort directed at a young person or a family in the neighborhood is, ultimately, a fundamental contribution to the construction of a better Dominican Republic.
