Unapec and Empire State University expand their dual degree program to all majors
APEC University (Unapec) has reached a milestone in its academic journey by announcing the expansion of its dual degree program in partnership with Empire State University. After two decades of a successful strategic alliance, this academic benefit, which was previously limited primarily to the Faculty of Business, will now be available to the institution’s more than 7,000 undergraduate students, regardless of their field of study.
The formalization of this expansion was finalized in May 2026, through the signing of an addendum to the original agreement in Saratoga Springs, United States. The agreement was signed by the high authorities of Empire State University and the rector of Unapec, Master Erik Federico Pérez Vega, thus consolidating the commitment of both institutions to the training of professionals with an international reach.
Scope and benefits of the international program
The initiative allows students to simultaneously pursue their degree at Unapec and a complementary program at the American university from the Dominican Republic. Upon completion, students earn two university degrees, which significantly enhances their competitive profile in the global job market.
This lasting alliance reflects a shared commitment to forming ethical, competitive, and globally-minded leaders, capable of responding to the challenges of an increasingly interconnected world.
