La Romana will host the Santa Rosa de Lima National Duathlon Championship

The Dominican Triathlon Federation (Fedotri) has confirmed the celebration of the Santa Rosa de Lima National Duathlon Championship, a high-level event that is integrated into the vibrant sports agenda of the patron saint festivities of La Romana. The competition is scheduled for next Sunday, June 30, with the city’s Central Park as the epicenter of the action starting at 7:00 in the morning.

Technical test details

Athletes will test their endurance in the sprint category, which comprises a demanding and dynamic course:

  • 5 kilometers of running.
  • 20 kilometers of cycling.
  • 2.5 kilometers of final running.

The information was released by Aristóteles Newman, treasurer of Fedotri, on behalf of the entity’s president, Franklin De la Cruz. During the announcement, members of the technical staff and the main directors of the La Romana Triathlon Association (Asotriro), Lener Mercedes and Aristilda Mercedes, were present.

This championship reflects the commitment of Fedotri and Asotriro to foster the growth of triathlon and duathlon disciplines in the country, providing quality settings for the development of our athletes.

The organization of this event is the result of a joint effort between Fedotri, Asotriro, and the Mayor’s Office of La Romana. The administration of Mayor Eduardo Kery Metivier has been fundamental in guaranteeing the logistics and success of this sporting event, which will bring together competitors of various ages and associations from across the entire country.

The championship has significant support from the private sector, highlighting the participation of Vita Salud as an official sponsor, along with the support of Ferretería Central, Cosme Sugery, councilman Osvaldo Cruz Báez, and Alien Technology. With this edition, La Romana prepares to experience a day where physical prowess merges with the cultural tradition of its patron saint festivities.
