Road accident on the Núñez de Cáceres overpass causes traffic congestion
A spectacular traffic accident was recorded this Wednesday afternoon in the Dominican capital, when a cargo truck overturned while traveling along one of the curves of the Núñez de Cáceres avenue overpass, near the intersection with the 30 de Mayo Highway.
The incident, reported around 12:24 in the afternoon, immediately mobilized relief agencies. Preliminarily, authorities have confirmed that at least one person was injured due to the impact, being assisted by emergency teams that arrived at the scene of the event.
Intervention by the authorities
The heavy vehicle rollover caused significant congestion in the area’s traffic flow. Given this situation, agents from the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Safety (DIGESETT) were deployed to the area to manage traffic and facilitate the cleanup and removal of the truck.
The authorities have made an urgent call to drivers traveling on this important road to maintain caution and follow the instructions of the agents present, in order to avoid further incidents while assistance efforts are concluded.
