Tragic road accident in Santiago: Motorcyclist loses his life after a strong collision
A regrettable traffic accident recorded on Jacagua Avenue, in Santiago de los Caballeros, claimed the life of a man identified as Fraclin Tejada. The incident occurred in front of the Ministry of Public Works offices, when the motorcycle Tejada was riding collided violently with a black Hyundai car.
After the strong collision, which left both vehicles with significant material damage, the motorcyclist received first aid from the National Emergency and Security Attention System 911 team. Despite efforts to save his life during transport to a hospital, Tejada passed away due to the severity of the injuries sustained.
The authorities of the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (Digesett) have initiated the relevant investigations to clarify the exact causes of the accident and determine the corresponding legal responsibilities in this case that has shocked the Santiago community.
The vulnerability of motorcyclists on Dominican roads
Tejada’s passing adds to a worrying national statistic that places motorcycle users as the group with the highest mortality rate in road accidents. According to data from the National Statistics Office (ONE), the use of this means of transport represents a critical challenge for public safety.

Road safety experts emphasize that, in the absence of a protective structure, motorcyclists are highly exposed to any impact.
