Tragedy in Rome: Family found lifeless in an apparent murder-suicide
A heartbreaking scene has shocked the city of Rome, Italy, after authorities found the lifeless bodies of a couple and their five-year-old daughter inside their home. The case, which is being investigated as a possible murder-suicide, has revealed a story marked by a constant struggle against the child’s health complications.
The victims were identified as Luca Abbasciano and Valentina Pambianco, parents of a girl who suffered from cerebral palsy and various neurological, bone, and visual problems since her premature birth in 2021. According to preliminary reports, the couple had also ended their pet’s life before carrying out the fatal outcome.

The alert was raised by Abbasciano’s relatives, who, after several days without hearing from the couple, requested the intervention of the authorities. Upon entering the home, firefighters located the three bodies on the master bed, showing gunshot wounds. The police confirmed that the father legally owned a Glock pistol, which is being analyzed to determine the exact sequence of events and who was responsible for firing the weapon.
Investigators found a farewell note and nearly 20 letters at the scene, in which the couple expressed their deep loneliness and inability to continue facing the difficult family situation they were going through.
