Tragedy in Santo Domingo Este: 10-year-old minor dies after being struck by a vehicle
A tragic traffic accident that occurred this Friday in the Brisa del Este sector, in Santo Domingo Este, has shocked the community. A child of just 10 years old lost his life after being struck by a vehicle while traveling along Las Damas street.
According to preliminary reports, the minor was returning to his home after finishing his school day. At the time of the incident, he was accompanied by his father, who was also struck by the vehicle during the accident.
Father’s health status and details of the incident
After the impact, the minor’s father was rushed to the Dr. Darío Contreras Trauma Hospital. Currently, he remains under medical care, although health centers and authorities have not issued an official report on his current physical condition.
Eyewitnesses to the event have pointed out that, after the collision, the driver of the vehicle and their passenger immediately left the scene of the incident, fleeing the area. Some unofficial reports suggest that those involved could be of Haitian nationality; however, this information has not been confirmed by the competent authorities.
The authorities are investigating the exact circumstances under which this tragedy occurred, while the community awaits answers regarding the identification and capture of those responsible.
