Terror in San Francisco de Macorís: Woman reports death threats from her ex-partner
A citizen identified as Inalda Torres Díaz has filed a formal complaint with the National Police in San Francisco de Macorís, after experiencing moments of panic during the early morning hours. According to the victim’s testimony, her former romantic partner appeared at her residence carrying a bladed weapon with the intention of intimidating her.
The incident, recorded around 12:42 a.m., escalated quickly when the aggressor began hitting the premises of the home while uttering insults and death threats. Torres Díaz recounted that the individual not only verbally attacked her physical integrity, but also threatened to set the house on fire, putting both the complainant and the rest of her family at risk.
A history of recurring violence
The victim explained that, although they have been separated for nine years —a period during which they had three children—, violent behavior has been a constant in their past and present relationship. The woman highlighted that this situation is not an isolated incident:
In 2021, she had already been the victim of a physical assault by the same subject, a situation that resulted in an active arrest warrant which, until now, has not prevented the individual from continuing his pattern of harassment and threats.
Urgent intervention from authorities demanded
Fearing that these threats could escalate into a greater tragedy, Inalda Torres Díaz has requested the immediate intervention of security agencies. Her request seeks the execution of the necessary measures to guarantee her protection and that the previously issued arrest warrant be followed up on.
- The case is already under investigation by the competent authorities.
- The Public Prosecutor’s Office is expected to take the appropriate legal actions against the aggressor.
- The complaint underscores the urgency of addressing gender-based violence cases swiftly to avoid fatal consequences.
