San Carlos secures its first victory in the 2026 TBS District

The San Carlos club finally celebrated its first victory in the 50th edition of the Superior Basketball Tournament (TBS) of the National District. In this Saturday’s session, the “Cinco Esquinas” team overcame El Millón with a score of 83-64, during the first match of the double-header at the Professor Virgilio Travieso Soto BanReservas Arena.

With this result, San Carlos improves its record to 1-6 in group B, while El Millón places its record at 2-4 within group A. The tournament, which celebrates its “Golden Anniversary” and is backed by the BanReservas Cup, continues to consolidate itself as the most important sporting event in the Dominican capital.

Offensive leadership

The San Carlos victory was driven by an outstanding performance from American reinforcement Malachi Richardson, who led the offense with 33 points and seven rebounds. The contribution was complemented by the local talent of Eddy Polanco, who added 22 units, and Miguel “El Muñeco” Simón, who recorded 10 points and five rebounds.

On behalf of El Millón, the efforts were led by:

  • Jessie Zarzuela: 17 points and five assists.
  • Raymond Bastardo: 15 points and 14 rebounds (double-double).
  • Andrés Fulgencio: 14 units.
