The Dominican Football Federation files a complaint with Concacaf and FIFA over incidents against Haiti

The Dominican Football Federation (FDF) has taken formal measures following the controversial events recorded during the match between the national teams of the Dominican Republic and Haiti, played on October 1, 2026. The organization has filed an official complaint with the disciplinary authorities of the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf).

The conflict originated following statements made by Haitian forward Wilson Isidor, who during the match expressed phrases such as “Hispaniola is Haiti” and “this is Haiti.” These expressions have been described as a lack of respect for the sporting context and national sovereignty.

Actions before international organizations

Under the management of José Deschamps, the governing body of Dominican soccer has not only turned to Concacaf, but has also formally notified the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). The goal is for international bodies to evaluate the severity of what occurred and apply the pertinent sanctions stipulated in their regulations.

The Federation has submitted the relevant documentation and supporting elements to the competent bodies, leaving the assessment of the facts and the adoption of the corresponding measures in accordance with their regulations in their hands.

Official statement from the FDF

Commitment to values and sovereignty

The FDF has reaffirmed its unwavering stance in defense of the fundamental principles of sport, emphasizing that respect for the rules must be the priority. Likewise, the organization underscored its commitment to the protection of territorial integrity and the Constitution of the Dominican Republic.

For the federation, these values are non-negotiable and must prevail both inside and outside sports venues, ensuring that soccer remains a space for fair competition, free from political overtones or violations of the sovereignty of nations.
