Government reinforces Roadside Assistance with 300 new units and the 511 line

The Dominican government has taken a significant step in the country’s road safety and mobility by strengthening the Roadside Assistance service. With the integration of more than 300 new operational units and the consolidation of the unique 511 number, the authorities seek to guarantee an efficient response for drivers 24 hours a day.

The information was released during the second installment of Weekly Agenda, a space dedicated to presenting the progress and infrastructure projects being executed by the current administration. According to what was presented at the meeting, this deployment of resources has the main objective of optimizing emergency response capacity on the main roads of the Dominican Republic.

Doubled operational capacity

The modernization of the program includes a diversified fleet composed of:

  • Road patrols equipped for various emergencies.
  • Mobile workshops for rapid mechanical assistance.
  • Specialized ambulances, all assembled by the country’s military industry.

Thanks to these additions, the authorities confirmed that the service’s installed capacity has doubled. Furthermore, the system now has a strengthened call center that operates under a three-shift rotating schedule, ensuring permanent availability for citizens who require technical or medical assistance on the road.

This initiative seeks to improve the response capacity to situations faced by drivers while traveling on the main roads of the national territory.

In accordance with the financial details presented during the activity, the funds allocated for this strengthening come from efficient resource management, with collections that exceeded the projections and the budget stipulated for the year 2025. With these measures, the Government reaffirms its commitment to road safety and the modernization of public transport services.
