Dominican government allocates RD$1,087.9 million to subsidize fuels
The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM) announced that the Dominican Government has injected an additional sum of RD$1,087.9 million in fuel subsidies. This measure seeks to mitigate the impact of the increases recorded in petroleum derivatives within the international market, thus protecting the pockets of citizens.
For the period between August 15 and 21, a moderate adjustment of RD$3.00 has been arranged for gasoline and regular diesel. Despite this increase, the values remain below the levels established on June 13, the date on which the 90-day freeze program began as a fundamental part of the Government’s Anti-Crisis Plan.
The Government maintains its commitment not to exceed the established prices as long as oil remains below US$95, thus guaranteeing the sustainability of the Anti-Crisis Plan implemented for the benefit of the population.

International impact and current subsidies
The geopolitical situation, marked by the conflict between the United States and Iran, has caused a significant increase in refining margins, standing at 26% for gasoline and exceeding 64% in the case of diesel. - LPG: RD$15.78 subsidy.
- Premium Gasoline: RD$9.97 subsidy.

- Regular Diesel: RD$86.89 subsidy.
- Optimum Diesel: RD$78.39 subsidy.
With this new allocation, the total amount earmarked for subsidies so far this year exceeds the figure of RD$26 billion, reaffirming the state’s effort to maintain the country’s economic stability.
